Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

Back Cover: Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana- except for her "disability". She can read minds. But when Bill Compton walks into her life, she can't hear a word he's thinking- and then one of her coworkers is killed. Maybe having a vampire for a boyfriend isn't such a bright idea... The beginning of the book was alright and then it kind of got better, but by now I'm sorry but I'm tired of reading about vampires! And seeing so many vampire books everywhere arg! But besides that I thought it was alright, I do like though how it could be to a a different audience since she's not in high school but just working at a job and is constantly with people her age and older! some parts were really weird I guess how it was written or maybe what was going on I didn't understand all the way. But it def was kind of like a mystery book too because you had to figure out who was the killer, and if course who would have ever thought of Rene, or anyone else for that matter, because the vampires are killed but I didn't feel like it would have been them. But at least Sookie is a strong female characters and I must say the first episode of the True Blood series is so freaking sexual like within the first 10 minutes man! But they do stay pretty true to the book in that episode so I like that about it. But overall it was alright, I'll probably try to sell it back.
